Books…

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?

I’m not someone who collects things and stuff, but when I started to develop a liking for reading. I began searching for books that attracted my attention, I thought I’d start and end up after reading all of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga. But then, I ended up collecting more and more books that I have gotten interested in.

Impression + Memory..

Reading back then was one of the things that I was not fond of, I easily got tired and bored. Especially books that have no illustrations, this has led me to not like this activity. One day, during class. This professor was a little unsatisfied with what he observed on us, his students. He said I DON’T BELIEVE THAT A MAN IS BORN DUMB you guys must at least develop a habit of reading. In your free time, we have in here our libraries where you can choose books to your liking.

I TRIED..

Developing such a habit was not easy, I tried right after his class ended. I ran to the nearest library, I went on and scanned through the shelves. But there were no books that got my attention, instead, I found myself grabbing newspapers. I thought it’d be a good start. Maybe? Perhaps, reading little by little as such could lead me to that goal.

A new found habit..

It went well, not too, but at least well to be considered as a start-up. Then one day, this cousin of mine started to share stories of the novel she once read. The Count of Monte Carlo which was turned into a film as well, I was fascinated and found a liking towards novels. She lent me the book and told me to watch the movie too, I liked it.

Here it goes!

From then on, when Stephenie Meyer released her books it became a trend alongside its big screen adaptation. I grew another interest, my cousin told me that there were 4 books. Which were Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. When I received my pay, I went straight to the bookstore and bought the first book, I wanted to see if it was enticing enough to urge me to get all four. It was! I have collected all four books, and so the rest followed.

Kept it!

I was just curious for once, and then I tried to grow my interest and liking for reading and it went well! I enjoy reading now as much as I enjoy writing, so yeah, if there’s one coolest thing I’ve found and decided to keep…it’s reading!
