I have this head that sometimes needed some outlet, thoughts are like popping corn bits. They just came out of nowhere, and most of the time would not allow me to sleep. So I came up of doing this stuff, make my thoughts be something to share and read.
It is not in the west nor east, it is where my heart needed a warm embrace. The golden silhouette and perfect hue, hatches a beginning; hope. There in darkness, it pierces through. Revealing another day has ended and a new day comes through. Sunset rises, like fireflies in sync. A warm reminder, a symbol of faith.
What’s the worst travel experience you’ve ever had?
It was Christmas and understandably, a peak season where every traveller is in a rush. My 1PM flight got delayed, and an afternoon of disappointment echoed all over the boarding gate.
Passengers were wary, exhausted as time kept changing. Night came, 6PM, 7PM another delay..until it was almost midnight that we finally got to board..we celebrated Christmas inflight.
Landed at dawn, rushed to my connecting flight with a queue for God only knows when it will move. Passengers were shouting at staff, while I was stuck in a pile of disappointed passengers an inch away from each other.
I was there praying that I could make it through.. finally it was my turn. Well, the plan took off just as soon as I reached the check in desk. No sorry, only ah… MAAM YOU YOU MISSED YOUR FLIGHT..
I turned at my back, the entire floor was a mess. Passengers kept coming in and the line just ain’t moving. Holy crap! It was the 25th of December already..at dawn!
I asked if they were going to offer me a rebook since it wasn’t my fault, there was no last call either of a passenger who could possibly miss its flight. They said to me… NO REBOOKING, YOU NEED TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TICKET FOR A NEW FLIGHT.
My excitement drained, I rushed to the airline office to ask more about rebook and reasoned out. Refused! Offered me a flight, the earliest… 6 in the evening and it was just 5 in the morning.
I have no other choice.. with great disappointment feeling worse. I purchased a new ticket which sold almost the same amount I paid for my international flight+connecting flight to my hometown. Worst Christmas I whispered to myself!
Got my ticket, now what to do? Grabbed my bag, took my toiletries kit and went to the toilet to freshen up. When I looked around, passengers were sleeping on the floor, others were still stuck in the line that barely moved.
I found a place to eat and took hours before I could find an empty seat at the lounge and slept! I arrived home at eight in the evening and nothing but silence and darkness as people went to sleep already!
I did not only miss my flight, I missed a 2 year worth of Christmas Celebration with my family! Worst ever!
The truth about love is, it is as flawed as it perfectly sounds. Daring and excruciatingly fascinating….it’s like an abstract art waiting to be transcribed by its audience.
A lyric to be rhymed with the perfect melody, a day graced with both sunrise and sunset. Like how the sky can be very empty without the stars and the moon.
To be defined perfectly, it has to be embraced imperfectly…
I seldom feel doubt about myself, the things I do and those that I have failed to do. The journey I take or the dreams that I have been trying to achieve, and when I do I feel like an ice cube melting under the sun. Like how every solid piece of me is melting slowly, too tired to say tired and too exhausted to even say I am.
I just feel like I wanna lay down on the ground and look up at the sky, the warm touch of the earth’s raw surface at my back soothing and slowly devouring my consciousness. In silence, I get to ask myself…WHOSE DREAM ARE YOU TRYING TO LIVE ON? WHOSE JOURNEY WERE YOU TRYING TO TAKE ON? WHOSE HAPPINESS ARE YOU TRYING TO CHASE AFTER?
Empty, I couldn’t even answer my questions. I’m just too exhausted to confront it with myself, just too much. I thought I was trying to live my own life, to run my own rules, build myself a safe fortress and just chase after what my heart is telling me to.
I always say I NEVER WOULD WANT TO SPEND THE REMAINING OF MY DAYS ON EARTH REGRETTING ABOUT THINGS THAT I HAVEN’T DONE…AND THOSE THAT I HAVE TAKEN THE RISK BRAVELY. Win or lose, I take full responsibility.
I was always being responsible for what I have been doing all my life, but then, I couldn’t help but ask, for sometimes…TO WHOM DO I OWE AN APOLOGY?
To that kid whose mouth has been mum and shut, with lips tightly locked that not even a single smile is drawn. That kid whose been building her dreams, looking life at a bigger picture despite rejection, despite being left alone and despite being lonely and empty. Do I owe that kid an apology?
That kid who couldn’t even talk, that kid who couldn’t express herself properly. That kid, whose weapon and way of sorting thoughts out is being quiet in one corner. Pushed aside, rejected, deprived of her happiness, imprisoned and locked. Do I owe that kid an apology?
Her dreams were once hers and just when she’s about to go far, to reach them all, to be free from that dark prisoner’s cell. She got caught, and from one lock, more and more and more and more locks have been added. Until she realized, one day, that she may have been walking with her own feet for so many years. But those feet are just part and connected by her body, with strings attached and can only move to where her master would tell her to.
DO I OWE THAT KID AN APOLOGY?
It took me a long time, a very long, long, long time. And only when that kid has felt her soul being ripped apart, her body deteriorating, and her head going blank and empty did she realize that…..she owe herself an apology.
The pain of knowing and not knowing are almost equal to the pain of unknowingly knowing the unknown…it is like believing something almost impossible as it seems to be possible. A common practice, a usual behaviour.
Dazzled by the lies that are forged perfectly to appear like the truth….the unknown lies therein. Refusing to accept the possibilities, variables and the consequences…underestimated.
Until one day, you feel like you are being dragged into the desert. The blinding light of the sun, the scorching heat of that overwhelming warmth. The dry feeling of not knowing the unknown…revealing enough to your naked eyes.
Exhausting every rational thinking that’s carved into your system, daring, challenging enough to question the knowns that you have known. Oh goodness, the pain of unknowingly knowing the unknown!!!!
