It’s that one…

What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

My life as a caregiver requires me to be physically and mentally healthy, which is why I’m serious about making a work-life balance routine. From food intake to physical and mental exercise, I needed to take things in proper cycle as much as I could.

However…

Sleep deprivation always keeps in the way, the elderly woman I’m tending to care for has this weird and difficult sleeping habit which I always have to cope with. There are times that she doesn’t sleep for 36 hours, some at 24 hours and worse is that she takes it in an alternate setting.

Alternate like, she won’t sleep on M, W, F and Sundays, her sleep takes place on T, Th and Saturdays. While I am only able to get 2 to 4 hours of sleep during a no-sleep period, a little difficult and I can feel my health was deteriorating thefirst time that it happened.

Adjustment

All the more reason that I need to be keen on setting my routine properly despite the situation, usually the one that has been affected the most is my daily physical exercise. Since it requires good sleep, I need to skip it at times when I don’t get proper sleep.

And so..

I developed this routine to skip my physical exercise at times when sleeping was impossible and focus on maintaining my mental health intact. It’s quite difficult to follow my usual routine, but if I let it drain down into the sewer. I won’t be able to perform my job well, even though I used to be very strict in keeping my routine in order I have learned to accept changes especially if I can’t do anything about it.
