Occasionally, movies can make us realize stuff that happens to be the truth of our lives. A reflection of our life and the situations we are in. I’m not a Will Smith fan nor that of a Denzel Washington, months ago I came across The Pursuit of Happyness and it felt as if I was walking on eggshells while watching the movie. It has gotten me into this thought of What is it really that I was chasing for my entire life?
Finding your own purpose is as hard as finding a single needle in a football field, unless you are up for a definite risk of getting your self a pricking pain you need to be calm and patient all through out. You can just roll over the entire field and let that needle prick you or be smart and wise enough to take your time and wait for that needle to reveal itslef.
Now that I’ve said it, being patient is tough and could be very frustrating. Especially when you are trying to beat the clock, just exactly what happened to Christopher Gardner’s character in his pursuit of happiness. He was caught in a situation where he had to beat the clock, which by the way was his wife who ran out of patient waiting for her husband to win the lottery. In our search for our purpose and happiness, a lot of disheartening situations usually greet us as we bravely step our way forward.
Having someone who cares about us getting to our main goal and having someone who treats our journey as a battle we need to frustratingly win over differs by the impact it leaves us. Chris knew what he wanted and how he would do it, the only problem was that he’d gotten himself a wife who was impatient enough to wait until he reached his goals. Which was the reason she left him.
He’s got the best motivation, his wife and his son. He’s got the right direction but was stirred as he fought against the clock. He loses his home, and his wife and all he’s left with is his son and his purpose. It was a sacrifice which paid him well, he was able to achieve what he wished. , I went to think For you to succeed, you must let go of the unnecessary loads that are making you sink rather than float.
On the other hand, John Creasy’s character wanted to give up living. Man of Fire was a real realization of those people who wished to surrender and give up life and are closer to finding the right purpose for living life. The exact opposite of one’s longing. Just when you are about to give up, you get to find hope. By having the thought of dying, you get to meet one special reason to live. It’s as silly as it sounds, but life is mysteriously fascinating when it comes to giving us what we weren’t asking for.
You asked for lemons intently, yet you were given a glass of ice-cold lemonade ready to quench your thirst. By trying to cut your life short, the more chance of you to live longer. At the brink of our sufferings and struggles, that’s where we get to realize what our purpose is. By facing difficulties, we find ways to pursue what we truly care about and value. Life? There’s no definite way to define it without having to get through all the ups and downs, exactly the way you’ll be able to define the adrenalin rush as you ride a roller coaster or dive into a cliff.
What you do and how you wish to do it, may sound complicated. However, it’s the best way that you’d eventually find the real meaning of your life. Purpose comes after and so as reasons and intentions, as long as your heart knows what your desires are. Life will find its way to you… the best feeling ever. When you cross paths with life itself, reveal what you truly desire.
