Unsociable Social Media

From Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram and Twitter. There is nothing more fascinating than of how these four major social media platforms are dominating and winning over our youths. The need for gadgets rose and a lot more are spending time on social media than of reading books. Following the latest news of their favorite celebrities, scanning through socmed to find the hottest aesthetic items. Mind you, students aren’t excited in going to school the first day to wear their uniforms and shiny school shoes and meet their peers and have fun. Such excitement is now fueled with how teens are prying on whe wears the best OOTD – Outfit Of The Day and who lacks the trendy vibes, school campus are turned into young fashionistas who wishes to stand out amongst one another.

There is nothing wrong about having to partake in such a competition, the younger they find interest in dressing well and grooming the better. However, with such societal standard social media is becoming more unsociable rather than sociable. I believe that the purpose of having these platforms is to help us all build a better community where everyone and anyone can connect with one another. Be able to freely express one’s self and making friends be more possible. Not only that we have these social medias, we do have a lot of online games such as MLBB, COD, DOTA and so on. Online games associated with sociable features such as private messaging and group messaging to help players or gamers communicate and make friends with fellow online game enthusiasts.

Here’s a thing, the online platforms I mentioned above are quite trendy as such has lead us to more societal innovations. People found new ways to earn money by creating and posting video content of all sorts. Blogging was outshined by Vlogging and there are more and more participants aiming to achieve a more productive journey via social media. Instagram has become one of the many ways online sellers turned into to expand their market, while Twitter is dominating in a more freedom of expression kind of platform. Facebook for the meanwhile is on top of the choices. It has everything a socmed geek needs. As helpful as it has been, things are starting to change, social media at this very moment is becoming more and more unsociable.

While teens are becoming more and more addicted to socmed, their attitudes and behaviors has been changing more in everyday. The flashy trend that Aesthetic items is associated with have created a gap in between teens and their peers. Exposure to online gamings have isolated children from their family as they tend to spend more time playing online than spending time with the family members, addiction to online games and being exposed to online dating has been one of the things that younger teens have been so busy with on their everyday. Twitter has turned into a battlefield of individuals who does not share the same views in every aspect of their lives. Instagram is quite the social media where fans can follow their favored celebrities and stalk them every day possible.

The wall, the gap and differences has been growing rapidly in social media. People are becoming more and more bold and above all arrogant towards others whom they believed to be different or out of their league, it’s worst than of how both the Americans and Spaniards had set societal class and standards during those early years. The social media that used to be a place where people from different walks in life met has become a battlefield of which the purpose is to prove who fits and who doesn’t. Celebrities and public figures fighting over some petty stupid things, news are no longer informative nor educational as they stoop down low that they seem to have turned into tabloids.

Teens were out-casted and bullied, older people are insulted and disrespected. One can no longer freely expresses self as they fear to be laughed and mocked by others, the then friendly community has become a perfect place for everyone who wishes to pick a fight with anyone at anytime. Cyberbullying, defamation, libel and more crimes has been committed in the social media world. The once a friendly and welcoming community is flooded with cruel people who causes harm to others, and it is killing the social media by making it unsociable.@braindrops21
